CCMAP is dedicated to improving the quality of life for eligible Cumberland County residents by
operating a licensed, non-profit pharmacy that provides medication for chronic disease states
to over 2,500 patients each month. This program is able to provide medications through samples,
purchased medicines and several drug manufacturers' patient assistance programs. The majority of
these programs provide prescription medications at little or no charge to individuals in need, regardless of
age, if they meet the sponsor's criteria. CCMAP can help people apply for one or more of the
patient assistance programs. This process is accomplished with the cooperation of the patient's
physician. CCMAP will continue to provide each patient with the medications they need
for as long as they are available.
CCMAP is a collaborative effort of
- Better Health of Cumberland County
- Cape Fear Valley Health System
- Care Clinic
- Cumberland County Department of Social Services
- Cumberland County Health Care Council
- Cumberland County Health Department
- Cumberland County Mental Health Center
- Local Physicians
CCMAP opened it's doors in July of 2002. As of December 2006, we have filled
over 93,000 prescriptions valued at $17.6 million dollars.
Funding from individuals, corporations, and foundations, as well as countless hours donated
by our volunteers allows CCMAP to continue to operate.
